Language Similarities
If you are an English-speaker, you already know more German than you may realize! English and German belong to the same “family” of languages. They are both Germanic, even though each has borrowed heavily from Latin, French, and Greek. Some German words and expressions are used constantly in English. Angst, kindergarten, gesundheit, kaputt, sauerkraut, and Volkswagen are just some of the most common.

Romance Languages
A Romance language does not mean it is a language that is sweet and charming, though they usually are. What "Romance" means is that the languages all come from a specific language group. In the case of French, it is considered a Romance language because it is rooted in Latin, the primary language of the Romans.

Phonetics
Spanish is one of the world's most phonetic languages. If you know how a word is spelled, you can almost always know how it is pronounced (although the reverse isn't true). The main exception is recent words of foreign origin, which usually retain their original spelling.

About us

Excel
Our primary focus, of course, is getting you speaking a language of your choice (English/Spanish/French/German). We do that in all the interesting ways we can, and thus we generated a number of programs--programs that are whole in and of themselves, but are also fully open to mix and match. This flexibility on our part usually creates a broad enough mix that some (and at times all) of what you'll do down here is of value to your employer or to your professional development. If you're doing formal class work, then some or all of your work with us is of value to your educational institution.

French

French
Speaking more than one language is a skill which will increase your marketability. Schools and employers tend to prefer candidates who speak one or more foreign languages. Even though English is widely spoken in much of the world, the fact is that the global economy depends on communication. When dealing with France, for example, someone who speaks French will have an obvious advantage over someone who doesn't.

German

Confessions of a Shopaholic
German is the native language of well over 100 million people worldwide - in fact some figures have it as high as 121 million. It is the main language of 90-95 million people in Europe. German is the official language of the 82.2 million inhabitants of Germany, but also of Austria (8.36 million) and Liechtenstein.

Spanish

Spanish
Spanish will enable you to better communicate with Spanish speaking employees or co-workers. Offer your product or service to the 350 million people whose mother tongue is Spanish? In North America, Hispanic consumers are the fastest-growing market segment. In the United States, knowing Spanish can be particularly helpful if you work in healthcare or education. Increasingly, the building trades are employing more and more Spanish speaking workers.
